Overview

Tight’s Bookkeeping platform can be used to run the core of your bookkeeping operation, making it easy for you to manage your team of bookkeepers, without having to dedicate resources to build a back-end dashboard to manage the bookkeepers and their permissions.

Use Cases

Onboard bookkeepers

Tight allows you to scale your bookkeeping team quickly without building custom user management infrastructure. Bookkeepers in Tight, provided they have the correct permissions, are able to onboard other bookkeepers directly from Tight’s bookkeeper dashboard. Once added, new bookkeepers will receive an email providing access to their new bookkeeping platform.
You can provision bookkeepers directly via API if you prefer to manage access from your own internal platform.

Set permissions

As your bookkeeping team grows, you will need to ensure bookkeepers only access the functionality their role requires to prevent unauthorized changes. Bookkeepers in Tight have one of the following four roles:
  1. Support: read-only access to all companies
  2. Bookkeeper: read and write access to all companies
  3. Accountant: same as Bookkeeper plus the ability to lock/unlock books
  4. Admin: same as Accountant plus the ability to manage teammates

Audit a bookkeeper

Performing quality checks and validating changes to books is essential to any bookkeeping operation. Tight’s Audit Trail allows you to audit a specific bookkeeper to see all changes made by that bookkeeper across all their client companies. This cross-company view provides valuable insights into bookkeeper activity and quality.
