Overview
Tight communicates directly with Column Tax to enable seamless tax filing directly within your platform. All financial
data flowing through the Tight API is automatically assembled into the formats needed for business owners to quickly and
easily file their taxes. Through this native integration with Column Tax, your users can
access a co-branded tax filing experience (Your Company + Column Tax) without any developer effort on your team’s end.
Automated Tax Data Assembly
In addition to a seamless UX, you and your users can rest assured knowing that complex tax preparation is automatically
taken care of. All data flowing through the Tight API (e.g. Plaid/bank transactions, Stripe invoicing/payment data,
etc.) is automatically categorized and assembled into the format needed to be ingested by Column Tax. That data is then
automatically sent to Column Tax, removing all integration work from your development team’s workload.
Getting Started
Create a Column Tax developer account
If you haven’t done so already, Tight can introduce you to Column Tax to get your team registered quickly. Alternatively, you can reach out directly to Column Tax to create a developer account and discuss partnership opportunities.
Securely share your Column Tax keys
Once Column Tax has created a developer account for you, your API credentials can be programmatically provided to
the Configure Column Tax API.
Displaying the Tax Filing UX
You can quickly and easily use Tight’s Income Tax Dashboard, which includes
all the necessary UI for getting tax estimates and entering the DIY tax filing flow. This approach gets your product up
and running in minutes.
Going Live in Production
The Tight API team will coordinate with the Column Tax team in order to perform QA testing, obtain access to production
keys, and ultimately go live in production.
