How it works

Tight's Import UX and API make it easy for your company to seamlessly migrate small businesses from their legacy accounting systems to your platform.

There are 3 steps to this experience:

a) Tight ingests the relevant reports from the legacy accounting platform
b) Tight intelligently maps the user's old Chart of Accounts to your customized Chart of Accounts
c) Tight performs a full migration of all the granular data from the legacy platform into the new system, including verification reports to prove the success of the migration

Migrations from other accounting platforms

Programmatic imports (for large batches of migrations)

When moving an entire user base from a legacy accounting platform onto Tight, it is much more efficient to import your users' data programmatically. The Tight API allows your team to programmatically create users, upload their import files, monitor their import progress, and receive a webhook once it's all complete. The Tight API makes this possible with API endpoints for each of the supported accounting platforms. See the relevant platform in Data Sources for more specific instructions.
